Kandiyohi County Pheasants Forever
We are a locally led chapter of the national Pheasants Forever organization. Since our founding in 1983, our chapter has been driven by one purpose: protecting and restoring habitat for pheasants, quail, and other upland wildlife right here in Kandiyohi County.
We are farmers, hunters, conservationists, landowners, families, and outdoor enthusiasts working together to ensure future generations can experience strong wildlife populations, healthy habitats, and the outdoor traditions that define our community.
Mission
Pheasants Forever is dedicated to the conservation of pheasants, quail and other upland wildlife through habitat improvements, public awareness, education and land management.
As a local chapter, we put this mission into action by focusing on real, measurable conservation efforts within our own communities.

Wildlife for Generations

We’re proud to celebrate the dedication of the Bruce Behm Tract at Burr Oak Lake Waterfowl Production Area. Thanks to a remarkable $100,000 memorial gift from volunteers of the Northwest Suburban Pheasants Forever Chapter, 127 acres have been permanently protected for wildlife and future generations to enjoy.
This incredible addition:
🌿 Connects existing public wildlife habitat in Kandiyohi County
🦆 Preserves native prairie grasses, forbs, and restored wetlands
🚶 Creates more opportunities for public hunting, wildlife viewing, and outdoor recreation just outside Willmar.
Bruce Behm dedicated countless years to Pheasants Forever, and his passion for conservation will continue making an impact every time someone steps onto this land.
